And I'm counting on it to spring!
Holy Cow. So with all the court crap behind us, I still had to deal with everything that comes with the special needs child. He needed a wheelchair, I needed respite. MDCP was the answer.
I missed the cut off date to get into the nursing home so Little Man could get into MDCP.
I BAWLED my eyes out to Little Man's ECI coordinator, begging for help, I explained the whole sick sad situation while bawling my eyes out in a McDonald's parking lot with both kids in the back seat. (so much for as happy meal!) I made more phone calls in those 30 min. than I ever had in my life. I was telling total strangers that my husband was hospitalized, my family traumatized and if I missed my chance to get my son into MDCP I was going to go nuclear. A new low for me!
Eventually, the powers that be took extreme pity on me. Because the court problem had been brewing for awhile, the ECI people were kind of in the loop and knew I was running on all 8 cylinders for too long. Everyone pulled through for me. I really liked the nursing home too. I might check in there myself when I need to!
Aside from now finally having Medicaid, Respite is wonderful. I love having the time to ride my horse again. Very therapeutic. We were also finally able to get Little Man's wheelchair. (after 12 months and 3 denials!) He loves it. He saw "Uncle Shane" bring it in to our home & he lit up! He knew it was for him and he looks so good in it! He goes to school in it, church in it, and even Taco Casa after church in it. Capt. Chaos loves to push him in it too. Its beautiful.
He's getting so big!

As I recall - big is good! Does 'Little Man' need a new nickname? He looks very good in his chair!
I will continue to send as many 'springs' as I can find for ya!
